Rajasthan brings a royal end to their IPL 2025 campaign
The Rajasthan Royals (RR) have ended their Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) campaign on a wonderful note having picked up a comprehensive 6-wicket victory over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. It was a combined effort from the Rajasthan bowlers and batters on a high-scoring venue at the Capital, to make things difficult for the opposition. This is just the fourth win in the ongoing edition of the T20 competition for the Rajasthan Royals as they have already been knocked out from the race to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. Eventually, the Sanju Samson-led RR team end their journey in IPL 2025 with a total of 4 wins and 10 losses.
After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, the Chennai Super Kings got off to a poor start as they lost two big wickets of Devon Conway and Urvil Patel with just 12 runs on the scoreboard. For the Rajasthan Royals, right-arm pacer Yudhvir Singh Charak bowled really well at the top to pick two wickets in a single over. 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre then played a fine 43-run knock to bail his team out of trouble. However, the Rajasthan bowlers once again picked up three vital wickets in a quick time to leave CSK reeling at 78 for 5.
As seen in the previous match for Chennai Super Kings, Dewald Brevis looked in an amazing form smashing a quick-fire innings of 42 runs off just 25 balls that included 3 sixes and 2 fours. On the other hand, Akash Madhwal took three wickets towards the end to restrict the Chennai Super Kings at a par score of 187 for 8 in their 20 overs. Yudhvir also finished his amazing spell by picking as many as three vital wickets.
In reply, the Rajasthan Royals got off to a brilliant start with the in-form opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal going all gunz blazing in the first six overs of the powerplay. Jaiswal played another impactful knock of 36 runs off just 19 balls, capping off an exceptional season with a total of 559 runs from 14 matches. However, it was once again the 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi who played a sensational innings of 57 runs off only 33 deliveries that consisted of 4 sixes and as many fours to completely turn the game in the favour of Rajasthan Royals.
RR captain Sanju Samson too scored 41 runs off 31 balls that included 3 fours and 2 sixes. Towards the end, it were the pair of Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer who finished off the run-chase with as many as 17 balls to spare.
