Rishabh Pant’s stump mic conversations have become the favourite pastime for Indian cricket fans. His constant chirping behind the wickets and witty replies while keeping and batting never go missing. Pant once again left the internet in splits with his witty reply to Ben Duckett, who questioned his slow batting approach during the first session on Day 3 of the Lord's Test.

India began day 3 of the Lord’s Test with Pant scoring two fours off Jofra Archer in the first over. However, KL Rahul and Pant didn’t hit a single boundary in the next six overs, showing a more cautious approach early on in the session. KL Rahul finally hit a boundary off Woakes in the 51st over, followed by another four off Carse in the next over. Pant started Woakes’ next over with a boundary off the first ball but then blocked his next five balls, which prompted Ben Duckett to ask whether they were playing for a draw.

Pant, who doesn’t really shy away from indulging in banters, nodded to him and said,

“Yeah, just like you.”

Interestingly, England too adopted an uncharacteristic display of batting in the first innings as England openers had scored just 39 runs in the first 13 overs bowled by India. When both openers fell in quick succession, Joe Root and Pope also played in a typical Test match fashion rather than following their usual ‘Bazball’ approach.

Meanwhile, the fans loved Rishabh Pant’s response to Ben Duckett as the conversation was caught on the stump mic.

Here’s a look at some of the fans' reactions to the stump-mic conversation between Rishabh Pant and Ben Duckett:

Unfortunately, Rishabh Pant was run out just at the stroke of lunch after playing another brilliant knock of 74 off 112 balls. KL Rahul completed his hundred after Lunch but was caught at slips, right after.

India lost both their set batters on either side of Lunch and now depend on their all-rounders to dig themselves out of trouble. At the time of writing, Shubman Gill and Co. have managed to score 272/5, trailing by 115 runs with Jadeja (21) and Nitish Reddy (2) at the crease.
