New Zealand Cricket (NZC) has announced the schedule for an all-format series against India at home starting in October. India will tour Australia in October for 5 T20Is, 5 ODIs, and 2 tests. India's two veteran batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, will also play in the ODI series, which clearly means that this will be the last New Zealand tour of these two great batsmen as international cricketers.

The tour will start with a 3-match T20I series on October 22 at Christchurch. The 2nd T20I will also be held on October 24 at the same venue. After this, both teams will go to Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland for the next 3 matches, which will be played on October 27, October 30 and November 1. After the T20I series, a 5-match ODI series will be played between the two teams, with the first match in Auckland on 4 November. The 2nd ODI will be played in Wellington on 7 November, the 3rd ODI in Hamilton on 10 November, and the last 2 ODIs in Mount Maunganui on 13 and 15 November.

After the ODI series, a 2-match test series will begin between the two teams. The first test will be played in Wellington from 19-23 November, while the second test will be played in Christchurch from 27 November to 1 December.

“When it comes to cricket, it simply doesn’t get bigger than India, and we’re determined to deliver New Zealanders a tour like no other. This will be about more than just the cricket on the field – it will be a celebration of New Zealand’s shared history and culture with India and our burgeoning rivalry and friendship through cricket," NZC's chief marketing and commercial officer Glenn Critchley said.  

“The passion and the following this team has is staggering – not to mention some of the players expected to tour, such as Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah – so we’re bracing for the intensity and fandom that will accompany the tour. Experiencing the noise, colour and atmosphere of an Indian cricket international is a bucket-list event, and I’d encourage the Kiwi public to take up the opportunity to witness it first-hand," he added.

“We’re expecting all of these games to sell out – so we’re urging fans to register for their tickets during the pre-sale window to avoid disappointment.”

Cricket fans from both countries are extremely excited about this series—particularly the fans of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Both players have bid farewell to T20I and Test cricket and now play exclusively in the ODI format. The duo last toured New Zealand in 2020.

The significance of the India vs. New Zealand ODI series is further heightened by the fact that the pitches there are considered pacer-friendly, and the local conditions bear a certain resemblance to those in South Africa, the venue where the 50-over World Cup is scheduled to be held next year.
