India’s youngest sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi once again took the internet by storm with another jaw-dropping knock on Saturday. Playing for the India U-19 team, the 14-year-old smashed a 52-ball century in the fourth one-day international against the England U-19 team. He lit up the stage with a sensational knock of 143 runs in just 78 balls, striking at 183.33. His stupendous innings was laced with 13 fours and 10 sixes.
With that century, he now holds the record for the fastest ton by a batter in Youth ODI history. Pakistan’s Kamran Ghulam had previously held the record with a 53-ball century against England U19 in 2013. Vaibhav Suryavanshi broke a plethora of records during his explosive knock. He now also holds the record for being the youngest Indian and globally to score a Youth ODI century. As for India, Sarfaraz Khan had previously held the record, recording the feat in 15 years and 338 days against South Africa U-19 in 2013.
Globally, Bangladesh’s Najmul Hossain Shanto struck a century at just 14 years and 241 days in 2013. India’s rising gem Vaibhav Suryavanshi has surpassed the duo, striking a ton at 14 years and 100 days. The southpaw is having a great outing in the ongoing Youth ODI series against England U19. He is currently the highest run-getter in the series, amassing 322 runs in four innings at an average of 80.50. His sensational 143-run knock helped India post a gigantic score of 363 runs in the first innings of the fourth ODI. India currently lead the five-match series 2-1.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi took the world by storm after hitting a 35-ball hundred for the Rajasthan Royals against Gujarat Titans in the 2025 edition of the Indian Premier League. He made heads turn with fearless strokeplay and incredible composure, amassing a total of 252 runs across seven innings.
