In IPL 2026, young players once again captivated the entire cricketing world with their performances, demonstrating that the future of the Indian cricket team is bright. Among them, Sakib Hussain emerged as a standout talent; playing for SRH, he claimed 15 wickets in 11 matches and played a pivotal role in helping his team reach the playoffs. He acknowledged that there is no shortage of talent in the Indian setup, noting that if India wished, it could field teams in four different events simultaneously—and win them all.

During a podcast, Michael Vaughan asked Liam Livingstone, do you think any team can beat India in India.

In response, Liam Livingstone said, in reliable cricket they could have 4 international teams. After listening to him, Alastair Cook said in surprise 4? Livingstone said.

“Easily, in India, if you take away the pressure of playing cricket for India, talent-wise, they could have 4 international teams,” he added.

He further mentioned that he met Sakib Hussain—his SRH teammate—during the recently concluded IPL 2026, and described him as an unbelievable bowler. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi also received a lot of praise during the podcast.

“I have just played with a lad that’s come from absolutely nowhere at Hyderabad called Sakib Hussain, and He was unbelievable, and they have literally got him from nowhere, played tennis ball cricket and tore up the IPL,” Livingstone said.

Sakib Hussain, a right-arm pacer from Bihar, was playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad in IPL 2026. SRH acquired him for 30 lakh INR. He took 15 wickets throughout the tournament with an economy rate of 9.45. Everyone was impressed by his bowling, and fans were also demanding his inclusion in the Indian team as well. Apart from Sakib Hussain, Praful Hinge, Prince Yadav, Manav Suthar, and Gurnoor Brar also shone in the tournament. Even Prince Yadav, Manav Suthar, and Gurnoor Brar got their maiden India call-up for the Afghanistan series, which is set to start on June 6.
