WHAT A KNOCK! KL Rahul has stunned the cricketing world and the Gujarat Titans (GT) by smashing a staggering century for the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the ongoing 60th clash of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season being played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. This is a crucial match for the Delhi Capitals as they need to win atleast two out of their remaining three league stage matches in order to reach the knockouts stage of the competition. The Delhi Capitals are currently placed at the fifth spot on the IPL 2025 points table with a total of 6 wins from as many as 11 matches this season.

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, it was a big surprise for the Delhi Capitals' fans as there was another change in batting positions for KL Rahul who was opening the batting alongside Faf du Plessis. After being bought by the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 mega auction at a whopping price of INR 14 Crore, the right-hander has batted at different batting positions so far in this T20 tournament. However, Rahul never really lost his patience and instead showed remarkable temperament and composure to hold the Delhi Capitals' innings with the bat against the opposition bowlers. 

Following the early dismissal of Faf du Plessis with just 16 runs on the scoreboard, Rahul stitched an important partnership of 90 runs alongside Abishek Porel. In the meanwhile, he also became the fastest Indian to reach the landmark of 8000 T20 runs in just 224 innings having overtaken Virat Kohli. However, Rahul seemed to be the lone silent warrior for the Delhi Capitals as he slammed a superb unbeaten knock of 112 runs off just 65 balls that included 14 fours and 4 sixes to help his team reach a challenging score of 199 for 3 in their quota of 20 overs. 

This was the fifth hundred for KL Rahul in his amazing IPL career so far and interestingly, he has also become the first-ever right-handed batter to score a century in the ongoing IPL 2025 season. He hs become the first player to score hundreds for three different IPL franchises (Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants and Punjab Kings). In terms of most hundreds in IPL history, KL Rahul is slotted at the fourth position with as many as five centuries while Chris Gayle (6), Jos Buttler (7) and Virat Kohli (9) are ahead of him.
