Is Rajat Patidar fit to play the RCB vs SRH IPL 2025 match? Check RCB playing 11
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will be taking on the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 65th encounter of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on May 23, 2025. Earlier this game was supposed to be hosted at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, but due to the adverse weather conditions, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) decided to shift the game from Bengaluru to Lucknow. It has been a really fruitful season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore so far as they are currently placed at the second position on the IPL 2025 points table with as many as 8 victories from their 12 matches this season. RCB have already qualified for the knockouts stage but they will now be aiming for a top-two finish.
Rajat Patidar set to play RCB vs SRH IPL 2025 match?
The good news for the Royal Challengers Bangalore fans is that their skipper Rajat Patidar is fully fit and available to play the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad starting on Friday. RCB head coach Andy Flower confirmed the development ahead of their important match against SRH. Incidentally, the RCB captain picked up a finger injury while fielding during the last match against Chennai Super Kings. The Royal Challengers Bangalore have not played a single IPL match in almost 20 days after their most recent encounter against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) was called off due to heavy rains.
"Rajat Patidar for one has given his right hand a little bit of time to settle after getting quite a bad knock. So, he is fit to bat, which is great. (Opener Phil) Salt was sick for a while, so it (the break) has given him a little chance to get home. He has recharged his batteries and he is back at full force," stated RCB head coach Andy Flower.
While considering his performance in the Indian Premier League 2025 season, Rajat Patidar has not lived up to the high expecations. The RCB skipper has notched up a total of 239 runs from as many as 11 matches at a strike-rate of more tha 140 that includes a couple of half-centuries. However, he will be hoping to perform well with the bat in the remainder of the T20 competition.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will confirm a top-two finish if they are able to win both of their remaining matches against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Lucknow Super Giants (May 27). However, in case RCB manage to win just a single match, then they will want some other results to go in their favour as well.
