IPL 2026: Ravindra Jadeja unveils his new hairstyle and celebration secret
Indian cricket team’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has revealed his new hairstyle for the ongoing IPL 2026 season. He is currently playing for the inaugural IPL Champions, the Rajasthan Royals’ franchise.
Rajasthan Royals kicked off their IPL 2026 campaign with a magnificent 8-wicket victory against Chennai Super Kings, a match in which Jadeja played a pivotal role. Against his former franchise, CSK, he claimed two crucial wickets while conceding just 18 runs across three overs.
On social media, cricket fans are comparing Ravindra Jadeja's new hairstyle with Major Iqbal, a character from the blockbuster film "Dhurandhar 2". In the movie, this role was portrayed by the renowned actor Arjun Rampal. However, Jadeja has stated that the reason behind keeping his hair short is to focus more intently on the game. According to him, this move will help him concentrate on his performance, thereby enabling him to assist his team in securing their second title.
"I was thinking the matches will be back-to-back for two and a half months, so there won't be any plans to go outside. So, I decided to focus on the game and focus on cricket. If I don't focus on my hair, I'll be able to focus better on practice and the matches," Jadeja was heard saying in a video uploaded by Rajasthan Royals.
Apart from his hairstyle, he also spoke about the unique celebration he performed after taking Shivam Dube's wicket. He revealed that he used to perform this very celebration after dismissing Dube in the nets, and he simply recreated that same act here. Ravindra Jadeja's celebration has garnered significant attention and headlines among fans.
"When I u/sed to play for Chennai Super Kings, I used to do this celebration. So I thought, why not let this celebration to be continued, especially against CSK?" the seasoned campaigner said.
Furthermore, Jadeja added that his family, especially his wife and daughter, are excited to see him wearing the Rajasthan Royals jersey because it matches their favourite colour, pink. Jadeja thinks it's a lucky colour for him and expects it will help the team in future games.
"My family is happy [that I am playing for Rajasthan Royals]. My wife and daughter are very happy. Pink is the favourite colour of both my wife and my daughter. So they are obviously liking it a lot. But hopefully, this colour will bring a lot of blessings for the team and me in the upcoming games of the season," Jadeja concluded.
Ravindra Jadeja & his new IPL team, the Rajasthan Royals, will be in the action against the Gujarat Titans in their next cricket match on April 4. This match will be played at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, Ahmedabad.
