When we talk about a helicopter shot, first of all, MS Dhoni’s name comes to mind. However, a new name has come in the ongoing IPL 2026, who played helicopter shots like Mahi. The young cricketer's name is Mukul Choudhary, who became the player of the match at the recently concluded KKR vs LSG match.

Thanks to his match-winning 54-run knock off 34 balls, including 2 fours and 7 sixes, the Lucknow Super Giants have registered their second victory of the season. While chasing a target of 182, LSG found themselves in deep trouble at one stage, having lost seven wickets for just 128 runs by the 16th over. However, Mukul maintained his composure and remained at the crease until the very end. He found a reliable partner in Avesh Khan, who ensured he was constantly on strike.

Displaying great composure amidst the fall of wickets, Mukul played his shots sensibly, taking the match into the final over and ultimately finishing the game. Watching his innings, fans caught a glimpse of MS Dhoni—renowned for his finishing prowess—in him; in fact, Mukul Choudhary even played several shots that bore a striking resemblance to those of MS Dhoni.

Following his innings, a video circulated on social media in which Choudhary expresses his admiration for the legendary MS Dhoni. He says how much he loves the helicopter shot that the previous captain of India made famous. Choudhary himself hit a helicopter shot that was easily cleared long-on in the 17th over. He added that MS Dhoni is his role model and he wants to become like him.

"I have always seen MS Dhoni because I was a keeper. I am a keeper. So I have grown up seeing him, the helicopter shot he plays. The 2011 World Cup constantly replayed in my mind. I remember everything," the 21-year-old batter said.

"He has been my role model. I am also a finisher; I want to be like him and finish games like him. So he is my role model," the Rajasthan batter said.

This is LSG’s second win of the season, while KKR’s losing streak is still going on. LSG will next face the Gujarat Titans at the Bharat Ratna Shree Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, on Sunday, April 12. On the other hand, KKR is now going to face the Chennai Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, on Tuesday, April 14.
