IPL 2025: PBKS vs MI match likely to be moved out of Dharamsala
India, on Wednesday, woke up to a major development as the Indian Military and Air Force completed "Operation Sindoor". The Indian force, in a joint operation, took aim at terrorist hubs across 9 locations in the neighboring country, avenging the gruesome terror attack in Pahalgam. Now, as tensions soar between India and Pakistan, the IPL 2025 schedule is likely to endure a hit. The Dharamsala Airport, among many others in the country, has been closed down due to security reasons. Meanwhile, the PBKS vs MI IPL 2025 match is likely to be relocated to a new venue.
Punjab Kings took the IPL 2025 action to the scenic venue in Dharamsala as they hosted Lucknow Super Giants at their alternate den. Following their victory, the team is set to play their next fixture, the PBKS vs DC match, at the same venue on Wednesday. Both the teams have settled at the venue before the security developments in the region. Thus, the PBKS vs DC fixture remains unaffected by the interim suspension of the airport facility in the state. However, the next scheduled fixture between the top-ranked Punjab Kings and Mumbai Indians is facing the chances of a possible relocation.

The PBKS vs MI IPL 2025 match was originally scheduled for Sunday, May 11. The ongoing season is already in the business end, with the playoffs approaching soon. While there's no discussion about rescheduling the match, the location would likely be moved to Mumbai. Earlier, there were reports suggesting that the Mumbai Indians camp were mulling over finding alternate travel routes. As the Chandigarh and Dharamsala airports remain shut, MI were looking to first land in Delhi and head to the venue via road.
However, the latest report suggests that the governing council is preparing to host the PBKS vs MI match at either the DY Patil Stadium or the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Both the teams are currently poised as two of the strongest contenders to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs. With 7 wins in 11 matches, PBKS is currently placed at the third spot with 15 points on the points table. Meanwhile, despite their recent loss to GT at home, MI have maintained a place among the Top 4 with 14 points in 12 matches.
