The Indian team finally registered their first-ever series victory under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy. Following a nightmare tour of the UK, where India lost 0-2 against Ireland and 0-4 against England, the Men in Blue secured a 3-0 series victory against the hosts, Zimbabwe. During the series, management gave rest to the senior players. However, young players performed excellently throughout the series and earned a dominant series victory.

The Biggest positive for the men in blue is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the highest run-getter of the series. He scored 151 runs in 3 matches, including 2 half-centuries. He smashed these runs with an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 196.10. His highest score came in the last game, when he scored 81 runs in 49 balls. For his excellent performance, Sooryavanshi also became the player of the series.

Ishan Kishan also scored 145 runs in the series, including a fifty. His best innings came in the second game, when he played an incredible knock of 81 runs. At the same time, Tilak Varma also scored a half-century in the second T20I. Apart from them, the rest of the lower-order batters didn’t get a chance to face more deliveries.

However, Abhishek Sharma’s recent form has now become a major concern for Team India. He could manage only 11 runs in 3 innings. In every match, Blessing Muzarabani dismissed him cheaply. The management gave rest to T20 World Cup 2026 player of the tournament Sanju Samson for the series. But when he returned in the upcoming cricket series, the management will have to find out who will open the innings: Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma, Abhishek Sharma and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi or Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Sanju Samson.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer got a start in every match, but he couldn’t manage to convert them into big scores.

In the bowling department, Mayank Yadav looked very impressive, taking 5 wickets. In contrast, Yash Thakur and Prince Yadav took 4 wickets each in 2 innings. While newcomer Ashok Sharma also got his debut wicket. He went expensive in his debut over, but after that, he made a superb comeback, conceding only 49 runs in 8 overs. Ravi Bishnoi and Abhishek Sharma also concluded the series with 3 wickets, while Shivam Dube also picked 2 wickets.

With this series victory, the Indian team once again climbed to the top position of the ICC T20I rankings and became the No.1 ranked T20I side, surpassing England.

At the end, we can analyse that the Indian team’s future is looking good. The next time the Indian team will play a T20I series against the West Indies at Home soil in October, when the Caribbean team will tour India for a 5-match T20I series. Before that series, India’s Test side will tour Sri Lanka for a 2-match Test series in August, while India’s ODI side will face the West Indies in a 3-match ODI series in September.
