India vs Zimbabwe T20I Series: Indian team performance review
The Indian team finally registered their first-ever series victory under Shreyas Iyer’s captaincy. Following a nightmare tour of the UK, where India lost 0-2 against Ireland and 0-4 against England, the Men in Blue secured a 3-0 series victory against the hosts, Zimbabwe. During the series, management gave rest to the senior players. However, young players performed excellently throughout the series and earned a dominant series victory.
The Biggest positive for the men in blue is Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, the highest run-getter of the series. He scored 151 runs in 3 matches, including 2 half-centuries. He smashed these runs with an average of 50.33 and a strike rate of 196.10. His highest score came in the last game, when he scored 81 runs in 49 balls. For his excellent performance, Sooryavanshi also became the player of the series.
Ishan Kishan also scored 145 runs in the series, including a fifty. His best innings came in the second game, when he played an incredible knock of 81 runs. However, Abhishek Sharma’s recent form has now become a major concern for Team India. He could manage only 11 runs in 3 innings. In every match, Blessing Muzarabani dismissed him cheaply.
