Mohammed Siraj produced a spell for the ages, forcing the tides to turn at The Oval. Day 5 of the final India vs England Test started with the hosts needing just 35 runs to win the match. India, on the other hand, still required four wickets to defy the English and draw the series 2-2. Odds were not in the favor of Shubman Gill and Co. However, the duo of Prasidh Krishna and Mohammed Siraj pulled the odds back with their scintillating show under the gloomy sky at The Oval. Siraj sealed off with a five-wicket haul as India won the final Test by 6 runs.

Blood, sweat, and immense grit, the India vs England Test series demanded it all and some more from both the teams. Neither England nor India shied away from the toil, as the series result matched the efforts shown by the rivals. The Manchester Test witnessed Rishabh Pant coming out to bat with a fractured foot. The Oval Test, meanwhile, saw Chris Woakes walking out with a dislocated shoulder to put up the fight in the match that went right down the wire.

As anticipated, England used the heavy roller before the last leg of the final Test kicked off on Day 5 at The Oval. Prasidh Krishna opened the attack, getting hit for consecutive boundaries by Jamie Overton. However, nothing worked for the hosts once Mohammed Siraj launched into action. Siraj claimed Jamie Smith in the next over as the youngster nipped it back to Dhruv Jurel. Indian hopes revived after the dismissal, as the tail-end remained to deal with.

Siraj returned to claim Jamie Overton in his next over as Dharmasena raised his finger in India's favor at the LBW call. Overton demanded a review, but the wickets showed umpireโ€™s call, as India rejoiced in the rise of another beacon. Tongue joined Atkinson at the crease with England needing 20 runs and India on the lookout for the last two wickets. Atkinson did his best to shield Tongue on the other end, but the speedster came undone against a splendid yorker by Prasidh Krishna.

The Oval stood in respect of the dedication of Chris Woakes, who walked out to bat with a dislocated shoulder. Protecting his injured shoulder under his sweater, Woakes looked determined to fight. Atkinson knew the requirements expected of him, keep Woakes at the other end. The all-rounder unleashed a six off Mohammed Siraj to revive English hope and enhance the cricket score in the final India vs England Test. The pressure came right back on India, who failed to save a single at the end of the over, leading to Atkinson keeping the strike to himself.

After two overs filled with agony and nerves, Mohammed Siraj completed his mastery. The pacer concluded Atkinson's admirable fight, hitting the stumps with a glorious yorker. Siraj's five-wicket haul led India to a historic 6-run win in the Oval Test. The five-match India vs England series ended in a 2-2 draw as Shubman Gill completed his first stint as India's Test captain.

Mohammed Siraj was named Player of the Match at the completion of the nerve-wracking Test. Siraj has been compelling for his team throughout the India vs England series. Dealing with multiple injury concerns and the workload management of Jasprit Bumrah, India had a reliable prospect in Siraj. The speedster played all five Tests, never compromising on his spells, putting his all in every time he came out to bowl. Scalping 23 wickets across the five Tests, Siraj emerged as the highest wicket-taker in the series. The speedster opened up about his spell on the final day of the Oval Test after India claimed the miraculous win.

"The plan was to keep it simple and hit a consistent spot. Not try too much and if I can get wickets from there it's a bonus and build pressure. When I woke up today I had the belief that I could do it, I had the belief system," Siraj expressed.
