IND vs WI: Predicted India playing XI for the second T20I
The second T20I between India and West Indies will be played at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi on October 9. Shreyas Iyer-led team India secured a convincing eight-wicket victory over the Carribean side in the opening game at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, riding on a brilliant century from captain Shreyas Iyer. His sensational knock helped the hosts chase down the 172-run target in just 14.4 overs.
The Men in Blue will now be eager to carry their winning momentum into the second game, while the Caribbean side will be desperate to bounce back and level the series.
India are likely to go into the match with an unchanged playing XI. Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are expected to open the innings, with Ishan Kishan, captain Shreyas Iyer and Tilak Varma forming the middle order.
Sanju Samson, however, will be under some pressure heading into the game. The wicketkeeper-batter has struggled for runs in his recent outings, and another failure could open the door for young Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the third T20I. Sooryavanshi could miss the Ranchi clash, but he may get an opportunity if Samson fails to deliver again.
Axar Patel, Naman Dhir and Shivam Dube are expected to handle the all-rounder duties, while Kuldeep Yadav will be the frontline spinner. Arshdeep Singh and Mayank Yadav are likely to lead the pace attack.
India's bowling unit also impressed in the opening match, with every bowler picking up at least one wicket as the visitors were bowled out for 171 in 19.1 overs. The batters then made light work of the chase, sealing a dominant eight-wicket victory.
The Indian team will be hoping for another all-round performance in Ranchi and will look to take a 2-0 lead in the series.
