After the first T20I was washed out and a subsequent 4-wicket loss in the second T20I, Team India will take the field with the sole aim of winning the third T20I to stage a comeback in the series. The third match of this five-game series is scheduled for July 7 at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. A loss here would mean India forfeits the chance to win the series; this would mark their second consecutive series defeat, following the loss against Ireland.

In the previous match, Abhishek Sharma (43), Ishan Kishan (49), and Shreyas Iyer (37) played pivotal roles in taking India to a total of 190 runs, but the bowlers failed to defend the target. The 17th over, bowled by Ravi Bishnoi, proved to be the turning point; Jacob Bethell smashed three sixes and a four to amass 29 runs, effectively snatching victory from India's grasp. Even in the third over, ace pacer Arshdeep Singh also conceded 27 runs as England skipper Harry Brook smashed into him for 5 consecutive boundaries, including 2 back-to-back boundaries followed by 3 straight sixes.

Given the circumstances, Team India might make significant changes for the next cricket match

15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi finally made his international debut in the last game; although he scored only 14 runs, the two sixes he hit won the hearts of the fans, and the management might consider sticking with him. Sanju Samson could potentially be dropped again; if he does find a spot in the playing XI, it might be in the middle order, replacing Tilak Varma, who has been struggling with his form recently. Should Sanju replace Tilak, the team's batting order would likely undergo a reshuffle.

Washington Sundar or Prince Yadav could be given a chance in place of Ravi Bishnoi. The choice between Washington and Prince will largely depend on the pitch conditions. If the pitch is likely to assist spinners, Washington could be fielded, whereas if it favours fast bowlers, Prince Yadav might get a spot in the playing XI. It will be interesting to see which combination Team India fields. Shreyas Iyer is still awaiting his first T20I victory as captain and will be keen to achieve it at Trent Bridge.
