IND vs ENG: Predicted India playing XI for the 2nd ODI

Following a massive victory over the hosts, England, in the first ODI of the 3-match series, India, the visitors, have finally tasted victory in the ongoing UK tour. The Men in Blue crushed England by 6 wickets at Edgbaston, Birmingham, and now they are aiming to seal the series by winning the second ODI, scheduled for July 16 at the Sophia Gardens, Cardiff. 

Skipper Shubman Gill, Axar Patel and Washington Sundar became heroes in the first match. However, fans were disappointed due to Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul’s failure. Rohit Sharma scored 11 runs, Virat Kohli amassed 5 runs, while KL Rahul was dismissed after scoring 1 run. Fans are now expecting the veteran batters to showcase their class in the upcoming ODIs and score big runs. 

Shubman Gill was retired hurt after scoring 80, a major concern for India. However, reports indicated that he is currently fine and will be available for the second ODI. However, in case he misses the 2nd ODI, Ishan Kishan might take his place in the playing XI, while ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will lead the side. 

Kuldeep Yadav missed the first ODI due to team combination. His fans and several former cricketers want his inclusion in the India playing XI. However, it seemed that he would have to sit out in the 2nd ODI as well. 

The Indian Team would enter the next cricket match without any changes to the playing XI. Once again, Shubman Gill & Rohit Sharma will open the innings. Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, and Washington Sundar will feature in the middle order. The death-over batting responsibilities will be on the shoulders of KL Rahul, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube. Axar, Dube, and Sundar will also be important for their all-rounder skills. In the first ODI, Axar Patel took 4 wickets, while Shivam Dube picked 1 wicket. They will want to replicate the performance in the upcoming match as well.

Jasprit Bumrah will lead the bowling attack along with Gurnoor Brar and Prasidh Krishna. Bumrah picked 1 wicket, while Brar and Krishna took 2 wickets each in the first ODI. It will be fascinating to see whether the management gives a chance to either Prince Yadav or Arshdeep Singh in the India playing XI.
