IND vs AUS: Why is Arshdeep Singh not playing the 3rd ODI?
The Men in Blue have arrived at the Sydney Cricket Ground in a bid to avert a series whitewash at the hands of the Kangaroos. The IND vs AUS ODI series currently has the hosts leading 2-0 after their victories in Perth and Adelaide. Meanwhile, as the visitors now try to change the tide, the India Playing XI features two changes for the 3rd ODI. Kuldeep Yadav, missed dearly by fans and the cricket fraternity during the India vs Australia series, has finally been given a spot in the combination. Meanwhile, left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh has been replaced by Prasidh Krishna in the Playing XI for the final fixture.

IND vs AUS 3rd ODI: Nitish Kumar Reddy injured, Arshdeep Singh misses out as Kuldeep Yadav named in the India Playing XI
The India Playing XI for the 3rd and final IND vs AUS ODI in Sydney has fielded three spinners, unlike their combination in the previous two games. As per an update by the BCCI, pace all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy sustained an injury during the 2nd ODI in Adelaide. With the pacer unavailable for selection, Kuldeep Yadav finally earned a spot in the mix as the Men in Blue changed the equation to a spin-heavy attack.

Nitish Kumar R eddy sustained a left quadriceps injury during the second ODI in Adelaide and was subsequently unavailable for selection for the third ODI. The BCCI Medical Team is monitoring him on a daily basis.#TeamIndia | #AUSvIND | @NKReddy07 pic.twitter.com/8vBt1f5e5f
The BCCI, however, did not provide an update on Arshdeep Singh. The pacer was seen struggling with cramps during the 2nd IND vs AUS fixture at the Adelaide Oval. In all likelihood, the left-arm speedster was also unavailable for selection due to an injury concern. Arshdeep's absence has been addressed by including Prasidh Krishna in the India Playing XI for the 3rd ODI. The combination for the final fixture, consequently, features three frontline pacers aided by three spin-bowling options. Meanwhile, Shubman Gill lost his third straight toss, but his team was called to bowl first for the first time in the India vs Australia ODI series.
