ICC T20 World Cup 2026 schedule revealed. Check details
The schedule for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 has been announced. The 10th edition of the T20 World Cup, hosted by India and Sri Lanka, will be played from February 7 to March 8. The ICC announced the World Cup schedule on Tuesday (November 25).
All 20 teams have been divided into four groups of five each. Group A consists of defending champions India, Pakistan, the USA, Namibia, and the Netherlands. Group B consists of co-hosts Sri Lanka, along with Australia, Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Oman. Group C consists of two-time champions England and the West Indies, as well as Bangladesh, Nepal, and Italy, which is participating in the T20 World Cup for the first time. Group D consists of defending runners-up South Africa, New Zealand, 2024 World Cup semi-finalists Afghanistan, Canada, and the UAE.

The tournament's opening match will be played between Pakistan and the Netherlands in Colombo. The Indian team will begin its campaign against the USA that same night at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. The biggest match of the World Cup, India vs Pakistan, will be played in Colombo on February 15th. Meanwhile, India will face Namibia at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on February 12th. India will play its final group stage match against the Netherlands at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad on February 18th.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super 8s, where the eight teams will be divided into two groups once again. The top two teams from both Super 8s will advance to the semi-finals, which will be played in Kolkata and Mumbai on March 4 and 5, with the final in Ahmedabad on March 8.
Pakistan will play all its matches in Sri Lanka. If Pakistan qualifies for the semi-finals and final, their matches will be played in Colombo. Sri Lanka will play all their group stage matches at home.
Sri Lanka will only be eligible to play a semifinal at home if Pakistan qualifies for the Final Four. If Sri Lanka qualifies for the semifinals and Pakistan does not, the island nation will play its Final Four match in Kolkata as the first semifinal. If India also qualifies for the semifinals and faces Sri Lanka, the match will be played in Mumbai as the second semifinal.
If both India and Pakistan qualify for the semifinals and face each other, the match will be played in Colombo as the first semifinal. If both Pakistan and Sri Lanka fail to qualify for the Final Four, the first semifinal will be played in Kolkata and the second in Mumbai.
The ICC T20 World Cup 2026 tournament will feature 55 matches, including 40 group stage matches, 12 Super 8s, two semifinals, and one final. The tournament will be held in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, and Chennai in India, and in Sri Lanka's (RPS) Colombo, (SSC) Colombo, and Kandy.
Sri Lanka has been confirmed to host 13 matches (10 group stage and 3 Super 8 matches), while if Pakistan manages to reach the final, then Sri Lanka will also have to host one semi-final and the final.
