How can India qualify for the WTC 2027 Finals?
The Indian Team is set to play a 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka from August 15. The BCCI announced a 15-man squad for the upcoming tour. With the start of this series, the Indian team will once again set its sights on reaching the World Test Championship 2027 final. To qualify for the WTC Final 2027, they will likely need a PCT of somewhere between 64 and 68 per cent. To achieve this, India will have to win at least 7 matches out of the remaining 9 games. New Zealand and Australia are looking like superior sides to Sri Lanka. It means India will have to defeat Sri Lanka by a margin of 2-0. However, it will not be easy to defeat Sri Lanka in home conditions.
The first Test match between India and Sri Lanka will be played at Galle International Stadium, Galle, from August 15 to 19. While the second match will take place at Sinhalese Sports Club, Colombo, from August 23 to 27.
