Kamboj incidentally was part of a camp organised by MRF pace foundation in 2018 at Lahli, when he met his idol Glenn McGrath for the first time.

In the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy season, Anshul Kamboj created history as he became just the third player to pick 10 wickets in an innings, forever etching his name in the record books. Playing for Haryana at Rohtak against Kerala, Kamboj was at his fiery best as he managed to dismiss all ten of Kerala’s batters on a fairly flat bowling surface. 3. Anshul Kamboj won his maiden Vijay Hazare season
Anshul Kamboj played an integral role in Haryana winning their maiden Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2023-24. He bowled consistently throughout the tournament, playing all games for his state side and constantly being a thorn amongst opposition batters. Kamboj ended up picking 17 wickets in 10 matches, ending with a bowling average of 16. He had best figures of 4/30, as Haryana scripted some domestic history.

The consistent performances at the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy caught the eye of Mumbai Indians, who roped him in for the 2024 IPL season. Kamboj played three matches for Mumbai Indians in the 2024 IPL season, picking up two wickets in the competition. While most remember Anshul Kamboj for his exploits with Chennai Super Kings during the 2025 IPL season, not many know that it was actually Mumbai Indians, who gave him his first opportunity.

While Anshul Kamboj is known more for his hit the deck seam bowling, he can also be a handy batter lower down the order.
