The 2025 Indian Premier League has unfortunately been suspended amidst escalating border tensions between India and Pakistan. The suspension is just for a week at this moment, as the BCCI is set to convene later to take stock of developments, as player and management safety is of utmost importance. With this unexpected hiatus upon us in the Indian Premier League, now is perhaps a good time to look back at what has transpired this season.

We’ve had the lowest target defended, the second-highest score achieved, and a Super Over for the first time since 2021. There have also been plenty of solid individual performances this season in the IPL, especially by the uncapped Indians.

Here’s a look at five Indian youngsters who have impressed in IPL 2025:

1. Priyansh Arya

He made headlines when he scored six sixes off six balls in the Delhi Premier League, but it was always to be seen if Priyansh Arya could make that step up in the IPL. The southpaw has made the transition from local league to the IPL like a duck to water, as he has impressed one and all with his fearless hitting.

A clean striker of the ball, Priyansh Arya became one of the youngest Indian batters to score a century when he smoked a 45-ball ton against Chennai Super Kings. Priyansh Arya got fifties against Delhi and Kolkata as well this season, scoring runs at a good clip and forming a solid partnership with fellow uncapped opener Prabhsimran Singh.

2. Vaibhav Suryavanshi

Vaibhav Suryavanshi raised some eyebrows when he became the youngest player ever to be picked at an IPL auction. Many thought that Rajasthan were picking him as an investment for the future, but the franchise had some very different plans. Suryavanshi made his debut midway through the season against Lucknow and scored a first-ball six against Shardul Thakur, announcing himself in style.

His finest moment, though, came against Gujarat Titans, as he took down a daunting bowling attack that included Mohammed Siraj, Rashid Khan, and Prasidh Krishna. Suryavanshi scored a 35-ball hundred in that match - the fastest by an Indian batter in the IPL. That knock forever etched him in the history books. Still just 14 years of age, it is quite scary to think how high the ceiling could be for this Indian wonderkid.

3. Sai Sudharsan

This IPL has been a real coming of age for 23-year-old Sai Sudharsan. He has formed a solid partnership with Shubman Gill as well as Jos Buttler, as Gujarat’s top three have all but carried the batting mantle for the franchise. Sai Sudharsan has just two scores under 30 this season, showcasing exceptional consistency.

The southpaw has shown a great range of strokes as well, playing plenty of cute ramps and sweeps this season. He has looked comfortable against pace and spin, and looks like a good shout for the Orange Cap this season, whenever the IPL resumes.

4. Digvesh Rathi

A surprise commodity this year in the IPL, who created quite a buzz for his colourful celebrations. Digvesh Rathi has been extremely effective for LSG. He has picked up 12 wickets this season, and an economy rate of just over 8.

He has been the talisman for LSG while bowling, picking up some crucial wickets for the franchise. Modelling his action and game around Sunil Narine, the 25-year-old Digvesh Rathi has tricked the batters in the IPL this season with his mystery and guile.

5. Prabhsimran Singh

He’s been around the IPL for a while, but it is important to remember that Prabhsimran Singh is still just 24 years old. Retained by PBKS ahead of the mega auctions, Prabhsimran has reposed the faith of his franchise with some solid batting at the top of the order.

Playing with freedom under the tutelage of Ponting and Iyer, he has emerged as the leading run-scorer for Punjab this season. Prabhsimran got four consecutive fifties in the IPL now before it was suspended. The wicketkeeper-batter was instrumental in Punjab’s wins over Chennai and LSG this year, which have put the franchise in a good position to qualify for the playoffs after more than 10 years.
