Asia Cup: India’s top three all-time run-scorers
After a fruitful Test series in England, the focus for the Indian team now shifts to the all-important Asia Cup, which is scheduled to begin on 9th September. The tournament is slated to be held in the UAE, with Dubai and Abu Dhabi being shortlisted as two venues. Keeping in mind the next year’s T20 World Cup, the Asia Cup will take place in the T20 format. Suryakumar Yadav is currently leading the Indian Cricket Team in the shortest format.
He has had a pretty good record so far, winning 17 out of 22 matches he has captained so far. Suryakumar has undergone surgery for a sports hernia in the lower-right abdomen in Munich, Germany, and is likely to be fully fit in time to lead the team for the Asia Cup. He played some stellar knocks for the Mumbai Indians in the 2025 IPL edition and is likely to be a player to watch out for in the 2025 Asia Cup.
Abhishek Sharma has had an outstanding start to his T20I career and is currently the number one T20I batter in the world. He will also be one of the star attractions with the bat. As per a report by RevSportz, Shubman Gill will not only make a return to the T20I team, but he is set to replace Axar Patel as the vice-captain. India have had a stellar record in the Asia Cup, having won the most number of titles (8) in the tournament’s history.
