In a big news update, Team India are not playing their premier fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah in the last Super Four encounter of the Asia Cup 2025 being hosted at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. The Suryakumar Yadav-led Indian team have played some phenomenal brand of cricket so far in this T20I tournament having won all of their matches against UAE, Pakistan, Oman and Bangladesh. On the other hand, it is already confirmed that for the first time in the Asia Cup history, India vs Pakistan final will be witnessed in Dubai on September 28.

Why is Jasprit Bumrah not playing India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash?

After losing the toss and being asked to bat first, Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav revealed that right-arm speedster Jasprit Bumrah is not included in the India playing 11 for this match against Sri Lanka on Friday. Incidentally, India's pace spearhead has not looked at his best so far in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 having taken just 5 wickets from 4 matches at an average of 22 and an economy of 7.33. He also had a poor outing in the India vs Pakistan Super Fours clash where Bumrah ended up conceding a total of 45 runs in his quota of four overs. Therefore, the Indian team management has decided to rest Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube ahead of the IND vs PAK finale.

On the other hand, the pace duo of Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are back in the India playing XI for this IND vs SL encounter. Team India will be eyeing that majority of their players get some amount of game time before the all-important India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 final scheduled to begin on Sunday at the very same venue.

"Just continue doing what we have been doing. We were actually looking to bat first. Good atmosphere, good game and we are looking forward to it. It is part of the game (dropped catches). We have two changes - Bumrah and Dube are out, Arshdeep and Harshit come in," stated Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav during the toss.
