Asia Cup 2025 schedule announced: Check India vs Pakistan date

Shortly after the reports of India and Pakistan being in the same group, Mohsin Naqvi confirmed the schedule for Asia Cup 2025. Naqvi, the current chairman of the Asian Cricket Council, took to social media to announce the dates for the upcoming event. The next edition is slated to be held between September 9 and 28 in the UAE. While Naqvi, who also happens to be the PCB chief and an internal minister in Pakistan, did not spill any other details, the ACC later followed with the official announcement of the Asia Cup 2025 schedule. India and Pakistan have been named in the same group and the initial India vs Pakistan clash is slated on September 14.

Asia Cup 2025: India vs Pakistan clash to be held on September 14

As debate brews among the fans, the schedule for Asia Cup 2025 has been confirmed by the ACC chief. The India-Pakistan conflict from earlier this year, triggered by the heinous Pahalgam terror attacks, rendered any ties between the neighbours inconceivable. However, months after the border tensions that marred IPL 2025, it seems as though the respective boards are ready to engage with each other again. Recently, the India vs Pakistan clash in the WCL, the World Championship of Legends tournament in England, was canceled.

After severe public backlash over the veterans' contest in England, the likes of Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina, and the captain of India Champions, Yuvraj Singh, pulled out of the match. The match was eventually called off as WCL apologised for hurting public sentiments. While cricket fans made their stance clear on India and Pakistan meeting on the cricket field, the ACC is cruising seamlessly with its Asia Cup 2025 plans.

The recently announced Asia Cup 2025 schedule has named India and Pakistan in the same group. Being in the same group means that an India vs Pakistan clash can occur thrice in the upcoming tournament. After the mandatory clash at the group stage, the rivals will meet in the Super Four stage and in the final if both teams manage to reach the ultimate contest. The schedule further confirms that the first India vs Pakistan clash will be held on September 14.

While India is adjudged as the host for the event, the fixtures will be held across Dubai and Abu Dhabi due to cross-border tensions in the subcontinent. To be played as a prelude to the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup, Asia Cup 2025 will feature eight teams. A total of 19 matches are scheduled to be played in the UAE. It remains to be seen if the ACC tournament can proceed seamlessly and avoid the fate faced by the India vs Pakistan clash in the WCL recently.
